For my blog post this week I want to share this article that discusses a report released by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies earlier this year that states commercial airlines are using decades-old systems to run at full capacity, and the stresses on these systems from constantly high travel demands are pushing these systems past their limits. The Delta Air Lines IT outage from 2024 due to a faulty CrowdStrike software update is cited as an example of incident that has occurred due to lagging technology. This article puts a spotlight on a major cyber risk that must be taken seriously due to the fact that people's lives may be at stake if action isn't taken.
